7-7:10pm: Introduction – What are you writing? What are you thinking as this unusual year comes to its concluding set of pages?
7:10-7:20: On Essays, Essay Writing: Use paragraphs!! 7-9 sentences per paragraph is what I suggest. What is a paragraph to you? How do you know when to end one? Feel free to share a paragraph you’ve written on Irby, possibly for your essay due in a week…
7:20-7:40pm: What direction are you taking the Irby essay? Are you writing about your relationship with her, or taking it in your own direction. Remember, complaining is NOT composition.
7:40-8pm: Talk about you, and your life as Literature. For me, this year has taught me containment. Not so much focus, but made my life more consistent and characterized in terms of narrative?
8-8:15pm: When was the last time you were challenged, really tested… like something that almost totally made you lose your shit? What did you learn?
8:15-8:25pm: Close….
ASSIGNMENT: DUE ONE WEEK FROM TODAY, YOUR ESSAY ON IRBY. YOU KNOW THE PROMPT I RECOMMENDED, BUT TAKE IT IN ANY DIRECTION YOU WANT…. 3-5 pages, and include one outside source as support of your opinion. I suggest finding an interview with Irby and quoting her directly.
If you need ANOTHER idea for this paper, how about this….. Irby urges self-love. — Three words, one thesis. It’s that easy. You’re welcome. 🙂
ASSIGNMENT: Write me an email on journaling, keeping a journal, what it does for you. I’m only accepting submissions that encourage and delight in journal practice. I will only be awarding credit in that stride….
ASSIGNMENT: Write about your life, not as you. In third-person. Don’t know what that means, look it up! Have fun writing about you, but not as you. It’s enlightening, safer I feel as the narrator, and more communicative with audience. Give it a try….
This year has thrown me many ups and downs from starting my first semester back at the JC after 6 years back in January to being laid off at the beginning of the covid lock down and making more money than i was while actually working. to going back to work and then leaving that job to start my own business. and realizing that with so much going on i needed to take a step back. because all of this change has gotten me a little stressed and now im taking it easy and not letting it all get the best of me

This year has been insane for me and totally different than anything I have ever lived through. This is my first year being an adult and having responsibilities and it is so much harder than I could have ever imagined. Its way better than being a kid but working 24/7 is ass

Talking about my life as literature, literally is still in the works. It’s a confusing adventure but not a fun one right now. Again as previously said in one of my posts tonight, there is so much planned and so much to do but with corona things are limited. Which is a good reason to be writing all these things in my personal journal.

One day my sister had to run to the store and I was watching her baby and this is when he was really whiny and he was crying and crying and he wouldn’t stop..I tried everything and nothing was working.. and I was about to start crying but I was like what good would that do, so I just calmed down and became patient so eventually I can help my nephew.

Talk about challenges… Daily, with kids. And one could say, “Well I don’t have kids.” My response, “Wow, good for you.” Challenges are not necessarily a negative, and if you don’t like the term ‘challenge’, then consider ‘engagement’…

the character in my story that influences me to do better and strive for more is my oldest son, Lorenzo. He constantly shows me that no matter the obstacle easy or hard always finish and finish with a smile on your face, always. He makes my every day. Both my boys are my inspiration but my little one is only 5 months so my 4 year old is the one who shows me we can do anything we put our minds to.

my siblings, parents, daughter, and girlfriend are definitely my influencers whenever i have a tough decision to make these are the people i talk to for advise or to get there opinions. my daughter is definitely my biggest motivator though, i look at her and all i want to do is provide her with all the tools for a happier life. when she gets older she will be in charge of her own happiness but for right now her mom and i are doing our best to make sure she has what she needs

No I feel you! Example today I’m picking my son up from pre-school and he say’s “holy shit mom!, what happened to my cupcake?” We had stopped by olives in the morning to get me a coffee and he insisted on a cupcake but i told him he had to wait to eat it when I picked him up from school, needless to say it melted LOL

I think every time I’ve ever felt challenged, has now become a piece of cake because it is NOW that I have experienced the most challenges. I think the not knowing and the fact that there isn’t much in my control at the moment, is what makes me angry, and wish I had someone to tell off or flick a booger at, but its just situations that I cannot change and just have to wait till I can do something about it and change my circumstances.

the last time i was challenged was earlier this week. when i say im taking a step back its because i decided to step away from the business i was starting with my buddy. he has been growing it for the passed 3 years and i came in as a partner but didnt really feel treated like one. and with all the stress that has been getting to me lately i decided to just step away and do my own thing where im in charge of my own destiny. it was a tough decision because he is my best friend. but our friendship is more important than business. so i took myself out of the equation before things got weird

Something that was my latest and actual difficult challenge was flipping my grades around. My whole first semester at the SRJC was a bunch of classes, all online. I wasn’t used to the whole canvas thing at the time so a lot of assignments slipped by and I was doing horrible. I didn’t know how to drop classes at the right times so it was just a mess. I had to prove to my parents that it was just me not being understanding of the whole online thing and that if I got the hang of it, that I would do great. So last semester (the semester to prove) I passed all of my classes with good grades as compared to my first semester.

This last month or two is probably the last time I was really challenged. I had several big shifts in my life in terms of family and relationships, this being on top of the covid world we are living in. I found it really hard to see all the great things in life. I would stay up really late, like 4 in the morning every day, I kind of used as an escape because I didn’t feel as if could face the real things in my life. By doing this I would be tired and drained every day to make it easier to stay on my phone and distract my self all day from real things. This energy drained state I was always in led to me eating less and less. Overall it was just a really bad cycle/habit I was doing. I ended up getting really behind in school. And it wasn’t till like a week ago that i snapped out of it out of fear I was gonna fail some of my other classes. I was existing more than being alive. This whole covid thing had been building up on top of me for a while and i finally broke from it. Now I am doing really great. Just grateful for everything I have and will have. Grateful to be able to build apon happiness and joy.

I fell like I am always challenged by my children but today I was doing my homework, and my kids wear running around and they know I hate when they run around the house so I stared to scared at them and my smallest started to car and at the end I felt so bad because I learn that they are kids and one day they are going to grow up and leave the house.
