(Tonight’s meeting will be from 7-8:15pm. We will address the below prompts at our own pace. Have fun! Don’t think too much!)
1 -Intro…. How are you? What are you thinking as the year comes to its close? What do you see for yourself for 2021? Any stories of happiness or humor….?
2 -Freewriting…. Okay, but free from what? OURSELVES.
3 -Thinking is often the obstruction, the block that so many talk about. “I have writer’s block.” Bullshit, you have YOU. Go outside you, even if writing about your life.
4 -This pandemic and all the isolation, all the sequestering and quarantining, I would hope would show you that not much is needed to write. And if not, look again.
5 -Writing is a choice for some, and not for others. For some, it’s just what needs to be done.
6 -Have you ever tried something and have it turn into something else, something amazing that you didn’t expect?
7 – Your stories. You have stories. Don’t try to tell us you don’t. Additionally, don’t say your life or your stories are boring. That’s for readers to decide, not you.
8 – Tom Foreman, ‘Running Dangerously’…. What do you expect? Should you expect anything? What have you heard?
9 – Do you run? Do you exercise? How do you manager your time? This book is about running, but only partially. Much of it is about life and what we choose to do with our time here.
10 – Close. What’s on tonight’s page…. What are you going to do over the next 48 hours, till our next session?
ASSIGNMENT: Get Mr. Foreman’s book please, if you haven’t already.
ASSIGNMENT: Write about you, something from your life, and prepare an excerpt to share next class.
ASSIGNMENT: Email me a letter, no set length, on what you’re going to do to get the grade you want in this course.
ENJOY YOUR WRITING.
A memoir of some sorts, he accomplished something and detailed his journey.

I do exercise at least 3 days out of week but I don’t run but do smaller workouts.

Time has felt unreal for me these past couple months. I haven’t been working so my days feel like they’re on repetition. Most of the time I even forget what day it is. I even have to set alarms for my classes because I WILL forget lol its awful.

I love to run, I used to run and lost a lot of weight, but I. “feel off the wagon” like they say, slowly getting back to it.

How do you manage your time?

choosing how to spend our time is essential on how we choose to live our lives. Every action has a reaction.

And that reaction is what shapes the texture of your consciousness…

Honestly with Running Dangerously, I don’t know what to expect. Possibly just another personal side of a story in their perspective just written how they want. I like that and it seems to be the pattern, free writing.

time is so hard to control but it all depends on what we do throughout the day. we need to manage our time!

Yes. But it’s hard… difficulty only empowers us.

I’m not too sure what to expect from Tom Foreman, except maybe the style of writing will be similar to the last 2 authors. I haven’t really made the time to do some research on him but since i have no plans tonight ill do some research after class. I haven’t ran in about 4 months but i have really been telling myself its time to start again so when the rain stops im going to put exercising back in my schedule. and if we’re talking about running in a metaphoric way then i would have to say no because i never run from my problems. Currently time and I are not friends, i am trying so hard to manage my time wisely because every minute is precious but i always feel like i dont have enough time, like can the earth rotate just a little slower and give us like 6 more hours in the day? and if we could age a little slower that’d be great too. but i do my best with what i have, i just have this idea in my head that once i get to a certain point when it comes to my goals then everything will be perfect. but we know life doesnt work that way so i am just hoping for the best and controling what i can and looking at the bright side of what i cant.

“…every minute is precious but i always feel like i dont have enough time…” You do. You have more than enough time. It’s all about allocation.

Let’s close it up… what’s on the night’s page??

Honestly, I don’t get as much exercise as I should. I occasionally go out and ride bikes from one end of town to the other and then by the river.

on how we are feeling, “We all just want something sacred so lets get archaic, and naked run around happy to be alive call us. We are alive, we build fires that last through the night sleeping together as one with the Sun. Waking up at first light ready to run, ready to laugh, forever blazing a new path straight into the unknown, together forever never alone. We are not scorched by the sun instead we are the scorching sun as we build with our desires and the gratitude we have for one another, sisters and brothers.”
