There is no perfect moment to write, or gather thoughts. 

Make yourself sit down, and if you don’t have a specific prompt or direction, see that as a gift.  When the page is truly blank and you are not drawn to one direction, that only means there is more to explore, more a Road for growth, more story to develop.  Keep yourself in the mode…
