7:35-7:50: Your writings about YOU… your stories. They are yours, and you should look further into them, for a number of reasons. When someone asks for a story from your life, where’s the first place you go? What’s the first moment you think of?
7:50-8pm: Close…. What’s on your page for the night?
For me: KEEP THE WRITING PERSONAL. STOP THINKING SO MUCH.
ASSIGNMENT: Irby essay.
That’s it. I want all your focus to be on this paper. My hope is that you will make it yours. While still keeping it professional, you will ensure it’s personal and that you own your writing and the ideas you convey. The more you focus on structure and that it’s an assignment, the more harm you’re doing to your paragraphs. Write from your ides, your opinion… the support you provide is in the strength of your written voice, demonstrating that not only you read her work, but have a formed and framed position on it.

When someone asks me about a story in my life I could say so many of them but the best one is when I first had my first children. I learn so many things that I didn’t know what was love at first sight. My children mean everything to me and they grow up so fast that I wish they could stay small forever. My mom will tell me that when I had a kid I will pay for everything I did when I was small and it is true because so times my children could be a pain in the ass lol and my mom said I was like that when I was small too.

Good Evening! I am currently working on my essay and writing techniques. I feel I have a whole lot to learn in the way I write and I am going to be honest, I am having fun doing so. I do wish I had more time to work on it but I have to work with what I got for now.

Hello everyone, current work is still the Irby paper. I also got a political science exam which is pretty weird because it’s a physical exam that I have to mail out. So I’m a little busy with school but going slow and steady. Just working on going at a safe pace with work so I don’t stress out.

Irby is an excellent writer and I find she holds it all together really interestingly. She has a funny sense of humor that seems to tie all her experiences into one book that is a mix of everything really. All colors and shapes, experiences and vibrations, realization and meaning.

My direction with Irby still, is talking about the connection and relationship with her and her writing. Actually, as far as watching her on youtube, a new video came out recently on Soul Pancake (It’s a pretty popular channel) with Samantha Irby, it was neat to watch and it was also pretty funny. It was called “What Does Your Bookshelf Say About You?”.

The direction I am taking for my irby essay is all over the place and still trying to fix it to make sense. I have been watching her interviews on youtube to get a better understanding of why she writes the way she does as well as reading more bits of her writing to better understand.

As I get older, I don’t have to de-code messages. Irby is honest and immediate with her communication. What do you think? Can you use that idea in your writing?

She is very open and learning from her honesty, we can use this idea in our writing by making this essay our own and allowing ourselves to take risks in what we normally would not write.

with my paper i am going with the relationship between Irby and I route. while reading her stories, there were several essays that really stood out to me because i felt like i went through some of those same things. and im talking about how those points in my life made me who i am today and comparing that to how i see the kind of person it made Irby to be.

My direction is going more towards her INTENT behind her writing. What I believe she is trying to to get us to understand and take away from everything she shares with her readers.

Thank you! well, without spoiling lol, I think her intent is to get her readers to have a different perspective after finishing her book. To be okay with whatever we are too ashamed to speak out loud about. She’s sort of like sacrificing herself, by putting her business out there, even the cringe worthy ones, and saying “Hey I do this too, whatever who cares!!” making it possible for others to find acceptance with whatever we are embarrassed about. Creating normality to whatever is socially considered “wrong” or “weird”.

Im going in the direction of ” Irby defines human” Living in our current world people portray a lifestyle that may not be realistic, such as influencers, celebs ect.. She lays out her raw emotion and uncensored life. She shows me that shes human, who makes mistakes, goes through up and downs, and suffering from anxiety.

Connect your points and argument to specific parts in the book, essays that spoke to you and support your idea. I’m not saying summarize, but I am suggesting you demonstrate a certain level of expertise and special understanding of Irby’s pages.

I think I am going to go with something like ‘different but same’ in the sense that, I do not relate nor empathize with a lot of her stories in her writing, but in the end, I think we both have a confidence and enjoyment for life.

Whatever you’re writing, WANT to write it. I know this sounds like an instructor speaking, but it’s not. It’s a human suggesting a very human approach. Want to write better??? Write about sh/t you want to write. Why this isn’t taught more, I don’t know. But… it works.

As I go through a major transition, the most amazing part of it is how close it has made my kids to me. Not that we weren’t close before, because we were. But this is different they want to learn about me not just tell me about them selves. And that put a smile on the face and makes a man extremely happy.

I have ran out of things in life to write about… Nothing new is happening in my life. Literally, Nothing. My daily routine is always the same and it’s boring, computer computer, and computer. My parent is coming back from a business trip tomorrow, from Taiwan. I’m so exited, it’s been 3 months since I saw him last time!

How do you write YOU? When do you write you. Not as simple and framed as so many would say… but, we can always write self to better know and understand, and APPRECIATE self. The most normal and “boring” moments can disclose more truth than those you would call “profound”.

The story of my life…. It all started when I was in kindergarden, I was the tallest in my class and to this day I can smell the perfume Mrs.Douglas had on. Our class was the funnest.

I wouldn’t say my life is all too interesting to write or really talk about, but if someone asked for my story, I’d start with where I grew up as a kid which is Paradise, California. The town unfortunately caught on fire and got destroyed. I’d probably then talk about my move to Sonoma County. After that, I’d most likely just talk about my job history and school, then that’d be about it.

When someone asks me about a story of my life.. I always tell them about the time that I went skydiving and that is what made me more outgoing and not being afraid of being myself.
