Tired and moving slow.  Trying to talk myself out of these sluggish steps.

Coffee, I mean espresso to the stage with me.

Quick entry here before class.  Ugh… more caffeine please.

Another sip and I think I have time to make one more cup.  Why am I spending this much time writing about coffee and making it instead of actually doing so?

Sales Training… need to get creative with the role and day2day to heighten my voltage and general energy.  Okay, heading downstairs for coffee composition…

15 minutes.  What’s in thoughts, other than everything.

Realize you don’t need a breakthrough.

You need to notice the way the light hits the counter.

The way your phone vibrates and you don’t answer.

The way your mind is always negotiating: “If I write 300 words, I can feel worthwhile.”

What if this post is about that?

The small tyrannies. The tiny contracts you sign with yourself every day.

Or maybe it’s simpler.

Maybe it’s about the character who trains others to speak with confidence and is quietly practicing the same speech in his own head:

“I am allowed to begin badly.”

Start there.

Not with brilliance.

With permission.
