Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing well! Today I was able to go get a hair cut with a local barber so I am feeling great today! I went out of my comfort zone and got a new style and I am loving it. I had to make an appointment so it was a little nerve wracking since I have some bad anxiety and having to wait an entire week was torture, but let me tell you it was worth the nail biting and breathing exercises.

Well Today was my first day back from Maternity Leave, my husbands first day back since the second round of shut downs, my 3mo old’s first day at his grandmas and my 3 year old starts pre-school tomorrow and I am just in my feelings today. I know it will all be ok and we will all just need time to adjust to all these changes but man change is definitely hard when it all comes at the same time lol

  16. Hello Everyone!! I’m feeling very excited this week. I put in my two week notice at my job of 5 years yesterday and I’m going to start my own business. I’m leaving to Las Vegas on Thursday night for my cousins wedding, so this is also a forewarning that i wont be present/actively responding to the class since i will be on my flight at the time, but I will go through and read everyone’s responses. I’ll also be driving to Long Beach from Vegas on Sunday since Monday is a holiday and I’m going to spend some time with family there.

Today was a pretty rushed day and seemed to take forever for it to be over. I Woke up to a phone call at 6:51am from my coworker telling me his was outside to pick me up. After a whole 2 minutes of getting ready I went out the door and already couldn’t wait for the day to be over. First we went to the shop and loaded up for the day then we headed out to this job where we sat in an attic for 6 hours until it was blazing hot, then went to three more jobs until the day was over at 5 and was able to come home and shower and relax. Made a quick run to the grocery store for lunch things for this week and now were here.

In attaboy hr goes after Tommy without ever checking if it was the right thing to do and when he is wrong he forces the boy to eat ice cream even though he was at minimum uncomfortable. In mind laps his pops dotes on everyone but his own children.

After reading a small section of the chapters assign, I’ll stop and analyze what it was I had just read ( I’ll normally do this just before bed), then, I might write down one or two notes about the section such as: vocabulary (words I didn’t quite understand the meaning of), questions, or rewriting the section in my own words for comprehension of the text.

I think Sedaris is one of the easiest authors to read because of the way the essays are broken up it makes it easier to wrap your head around what he’s saying and what he wants you to understand from his words. Also it has to be 100% quiet for me to read and actually comprehend the things that I am reading.

My reading methods are finding a quiet place to read. I can’t with too many noises because I will lose my place and reread paragraphs without knowing. I also like to take reading notes in the margins of my books. If I cant write in my book I use color sticky tabs and numbers and use binder paper to put notes down and highlight them the corresponding color and number so that I can look back at examples and text that I really like or questions that I had.

For my reading methods, it first starts with finding a space where I am comfortable and there is silence, or else I will get distracted. Aside from that, more brain work speaking, I try to picture everything that I read in my head, like if it were a movie. I don’t stop much to analyze what I just read, unless it was something I felt the need to highlight so that I can go back to it, but I pretty much just keep going. Then after I had read as much as I could, that’s when I stop and think about all I had just read and how it made me feel or what the author was trying to get across.

Honestly, my method of reading depends on the book, an easy read, by easy I mean it has more a storyline not as focused on factual information, I can read anywhere, in bed with BF watching tv, in the car with the radio on, outside around a campfire while everyone is chattering, etc. But when it comes to books you have to actually truly comprehend what you’re reading, such as The Sociopath Next Door, or a textbook reading, I prefer a quiet comfy spot. With that being said, I can also read those more comprehensive books in the setting of my easier reads, It just takes me a little bit longer because I might have to reread things to ensure I understand it fully.
