Hello,
It’s nice to meet everyone. Most of the reading and writing I enjoy doing is for a game called Dungeons & Dragons. I read stories made by famous and unrecognized writers often. The majority of them are set in a fantasy medieval world. I have a hard time writing about things I’m not so interested in, so writing about D&D has been fun for me. As far as skill goes, I would say I’m a better oral storyteller, than a written one.
Today I woke up at 6:00 for my first day of classes for this semester, ate a family sized bag of hot Cheetos, and went right back to class. Not a lot of stories today except about math and science.

My relationship with reading isn’t as bad not going to lie I don’t really do much reading outside of school most of my readings as well with my writing only come about during school besides that I don’t do much writing on my “free time”. Despite the fact that I don’t read or write outside of school I consider myself a decent writer.

I think that the word assignment is gross. Think I told you that already but I’m telling you again. Consider everything an invitation, and opportunity to teach us something about you and the way you think, the way you see the reading.

I honestly didn’t do much today, I just checked out my classes and started on the work I had. It was kind of a slow day but a good day. I guess I like to read and write but it was a bigger part of my life when I was a kid. I honestly probably read more manga than actual books but it isn’t really the same. I think I just don’t have as much time to do those things like I did as a kid, I just read what’s assigned for school. It’s unfortunate but I think I just kinda grew apart from that as I got older, but sometimes I definitely do end up falling in love with the books I read for school like Catcher in the Rye.

You’re probably wondering how I’m 16 and in college, I went to the same British school my whole life and did my IGCSE’s and graduated then started with SRJC. I’m currently doing my 2nd semester working my way to transfer and be an interior designer.

Hello everyone! I’m returning back to school to pursue a masters in Marine Biology. This is my fourth time at the JC…my last stint was for an AA inGraphic Design. I’ve been working as a graphic designer since graduating, but work plummeted due to covid. I now do landscape design, create watercolor paintings and am a fitness instructor for work. I decided to come back to school two weeks ago when I was at the beach. I love the ocean and specialize in watercolor paintings of ocean life(mostly fishes), and botanical portraits. Marine biology, though a competitive field, seems like it would be a good fit for an active person that I am, and a lover of the genius of nature.

As a child I used to like to read and write a lot more than I do now. Not saying I do not enjoy reading or writing I just do not seem to prioritize it in my life. In recent years I did enjoy reading The Great Gatsby during my junior year of high school. I generally do not write a lot. Today I practiced guitar for a little while and went grocery shopping, otherwise not much.

Alrighty hey everyone! My name is Rory Orion. I’m new to this blog style of class but I’m excited! I have always enjoyed English classes and reading. I have loved reading pretty much from the moment I learned how to do it. My favorite kind of writing to do is essays with a thesis I’m passionate about (whatever that may be lol) sometimes I just have a lot to say and pouring it out or relating it to a topic in that format makes it easier. I had a fairly uneventful day while I just mentally prepared for the semester. I’m currently writing a bunch of notes in my journal. I hope y’all had a nice, or at least not awful day!

Awesome! Okay. Today has been fairly uneventful. I woke up and spent a bit more time than usual enjoying the morning routine I’ve created for myself. It keeps me sane and it’s like a gift I can give to myself. After breakfast I caught up on videos from my favorite youtubers, and mentally prepared myself for class. I answered emails and cleaned up my digital work space and then hopped into class.
I have enjoyed reading and writing most of my life, but only in the past few years have I really put my mind to becoming a better writer.
Outside of what I’ve already shared, I guess in order to know me you should also know that I really enjoy horror movies (like. a LOT). Even though I have a lot of hobbies that include being in front of a screen I really value time away from technology. I like to give myself limited time on social media, and separate my workspace and bed so that I don’t feel like my comfy place is a place I also have to stress about school/work/life. I really enjoy nature. One of the most fulfilling jobs I’ve ever worked is being a camp counselor and leading groups of young teens on 3-4 day long backpacking trips through Point Reyes. I like things that challenge me and make my brain work.
This class is part of my GE requirements to get my certificate in business marketing. I want to pursue a career in digital marketing/media planning for small businesses and local artists. One day I want to be able to run my career from my home office in a house in the woods that just so happens to have really fast WiFi. I want to separate work from play. But I still want for that work to be enjoyable. I plan on pursuing this “want” by applying myself to my education, my mental health, and by finding ways to romanticize the little things, like living in Roseland, while keeping the bigger picture still in mind.

I think that media marketing is interesting and can be done ethically as well as in a way that benefits businesses and creators. I want to facilitate brand extension while mainly devoting my time to media planning for their social media, websites, youtube channels, etc. Not enough creators and small businesses know how to take advantage of these necessary business resources. My goal is to one day be sought after in my field, but still always be learning and getting better at what I do.

(Hello!) Good evening,
My name is Daisy G. I am really happy to be here right now on my laptop, in this blog, with Sedaris, Lawson, and Irby next to me. I am using a new laptop stand to maintain ergonomic posture for the next hour and a half or so… Since this is a 3 unit class, it is recommended to study about 6 hours per week outside of class time to “maintain success” and I need to be comfortable staring at this screen.
I did many things today: woke earlier, washed and styled my curly hair, misted a Calathea plant, got a Covid test, drove below E to get to testing (I made it! lol), pumped gas/got a car wash. Still haven’t watched the inauguration…but I recorded it on PBS. There are so many details and mini stories involved in just those few things that I mentioned above, but, to keep it breezy, unlike that heinous windstorm the other night, I’ll just end here, for now.
