Sedaris’s style of writing is like walking through a summer amusement park. There are loud areas screaming for energy, obsession and fun! And quiet spots where beauty and life happen. Sedaris is settled in how he writes and who he is and gives very little f***s along the way.

Maybe the perfect fit? Its sprinkled in a lot of his writing. Surprising us with drama, then coming back to a sweeter or closer to home subject

I think that Sedaris poses more questions than answers. I feel like he makes us ask ourselves if we do the things that he describes. Like thinking about how as we age we are slowly becoming the people that we never thought we’d be. How we can look back and feel like you were 20 years younger just last week.

I feel I enjoy Sedaris’s writing style overall as I have been reading his book and over time it has grown on me. Compared to Lawson and Irby Sedaris is different but in a good way. I like some essays more than others but I enjoy the sort of fast paced feeling I get from his writing. He is always jumping from one topic to another, while sometimes it has been annoying I enjoy always having something new to read about. I enjoy how he makes each differing topic connect in someway though, he is very good at seg waying into another topic.

Sedaris’s style of essay writing is healing through storytelling. He carefully selects specific events in his life to communicate to his readers how his life came to be what it is today. He does this in a way that leaves the reader asking questions that may or may not be answered later on in the book.

Sedaris style of writing of courrse filled with humor, he is very sarcastic in the sense of wanting to get a rise out of people. He is entertaining to the reader, sometimes says thing that one might not have the courage to do so or what we might be thinking but will never say out loud. I did like how one of our classmates said that he might introduce a white lie here and there to make a story that much more over the top

Humoristic, mischievous , challenging to make me write and think. His way of writing . The way he starts normal sentences and turns them into something controversial or humoristic.. mischievous. Sedaris is like an thought controller. The way he formulates his sentences he guides you a certain way and then completely rips you of the way you’re going.
I like sedaris.

I would define Sedaris’s style of essay writing as one that smoothly flows from one topic to another, slyly placing in humor as he goes by making the nature of his storytelling hilarious. Not only does Sedaris have a blunt humor to him he also tends to tell stories that are hilarious in a way he appears to be unaware of. An example of this is when he gets his tumor removed and after when the doctor refuses to let him keep the tumor because it is illegal, he leaves without removing the tumor thinking “What has America come to,” I think he tries to write almost as if he is a third person narrator for his own past life events, he is able to poke fun at his own mistakes.

Sedaris’s writing style provokes more questions than answers. This is because there are times when Sedaris himself doesn’t know the answers to the questions he poses. And even when sedaris answers these questions he leaves room for the reader to question his experience on our own lives

I think Sedaris provides more questions than answers because I often find myself questioning a lot of the events that are going on while reading his essays. There is always something to be wondered because he jumps from topic to topic, and sometimes I’m still processing the last one.

Sedaris’ style of writing is through telling stories. He choses events from the past to events in the present. Specific events are what he uses to evolve his readers. Which is why I think he can leave you wondering of certain things because he cuts you off and leaves you asking questions.

Sedaris’s style of writing is like a puzzle, you slowly have to put the pieces together to see the big picture and the message he is trying to tell us about his life. His style includes sarcasm, humor, truth, but I think what makes his writing stand out more than other authors is that he tends to deviate from the script(96), leaving more questions than provoking answers. He wants us( The Reader ) to answer those questions with our own experiences and knowledge.
