5:35-5:45pm: Freewritng. Not just how you begin an essay, or a reaction, or anything. Yes, you should always edit and organize your composition later, but there should always be a sense of FREEDOM, and a freeing feel to your writing. Writing is often taught from the riles of and calls for more structure, rather than expression. Even a critical essay, or “analytical” one, should be expressive. Expression should ALWAYS be free on the page. Thoughts? What has your experience been?
5:45-6pm: What’s an essay supposed to do, anyway?
6-6:15pm: When you hear “Composition”, what is the first thing you think?
6:15-6:35pm: Composition is a piece of writing, a submission that is composed, together, self-supported. A stand-alone piece, if you will. It should also be noted, that composition entails several parts, and a consistency of Art, expression, uniqueness and music..
Post your own definition of “Composition”, below
6:35-6:40pm: What is your style of Composition? Does it involve any Humor? Search for Happiness? Or, a strengthening of existing Happiness?
6:40-7pm: Close…. What’s on tonight’s page? What are you going to write in your journal?
Assignment: Write in your journal, OBSESSIVELY. And, more importantly, FREELY.

Whats up I’m doing good today. I woke up and did some physical therapy and got a good stretch in then I got ready for my morning class. After that I ate some lunch then got on to my second class of the day. I have around 2 hours in between my second and third class so I went to buy a new hat, its a boonie hat and I think it looks rad. After buying the hat I went to go skate at my favorite skate park in Santa Rosa on West Ave and then I went home to do a second set of stretches and now I’m here on the blog.

Hello! How was your day Mr. Mikey? My day went pretty well, I tried my best to stay inside and avoid the nasty air conditions. I attended some of my other SRJC zoom classes, too notes and finished up some assignments. I’m really excited for class to start!

I’m here early, too! I’m stuck in Washington right now visiting my mom- my path home is covered by fires unless I take an extra 10+ hours going along the coast. Not down to make a 14-hour trip turn into 24 hours.

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! I spent my day doing some schoolwork and doing the mom thing. Toured a preschool for my daughter, because it’s that time of year! Then had to spend the rest of the day indoors. It’s crazy how first we had to stay home due to COVID and now we need to stay inside because of the smoke and ash. Hoping we can catch a break sometime soon.

It was good a bit jumbled up still the teacher is getting a hang of things slowly but surely. However it’s pretty hard having to put accent marks during class for Spanish, a bit difficult to do on pc.

Hey Y’all hope all is well!! Todays a decent day I had a Spanish class before this class and I feel like Im learning a lot! My second time trying Zoom and its pretty cool! Also had to get my car’s battery checked.. Battery life @ 33% so I have to replace it this weekend. Im also odd because I enjoy the moon being orange or a red color looks crazy different!

Today was okay. Nothing bad happened to me personally however the wildfires are getting bigger and some of my family was evacuated. Besides going to my other class for the day ive done nothing to contribute to society. I woke up went to math class, did my homework for that class and now im here.

I hope your family is doing well and staying safe. So sorry to hear they’ve had to evacuate. Truly hope that it’s just a precaution and they can return to normal soon. As for not contributing to society, I can definitely relate haha. Sometimes doing absolutely nothing can be a form of self care!

I had a pretty busy day. Finished up school then tried to bleach my hair but ran low of the bleach! So I tried to get some but they were all out, which mad me so sad 😦

So far what I have really imprinted from last class and the syllabus is that this class is what we make it and we will determine what grade we get based on the effort we decide to put in.

Last class we covered so much! For me, the biggest thing was getting a hang of the format and posting on the website. I really enjoy it! I also got a copy of the first book on Kindle! I read the syllabus and was curious if the journal we’re keeping will be submitted for grading or if it is just for our personal benefit?

Hey everybody i’m finally here after having some trouble logging in. Today was a basic day for me I work at an HVAC company so I started out the day in someone’s attic and installed some duct runs. After that I had to crawl around under a nasty house that had been infested with rats for the past couple of years.

While i dont understand the second part of the current prompt I do however feel that last class worked out extremely well and i had plenty of time to react the the prompts you gave us and felt that nothing was not too confusing outside of new class rules confusion.

Indeed haha. What are your thoughts on it? I think, for me, when it is a piece I feel strongly about, free writing comes naturally to me. However, when it is a more analytical piece or something that doesn’t evoke emotion from me, the premise of free writing can seem a little daunting.
