I educate myself by reading, listening, and trying things when the opportunity is available. Hands-on learning really works for me so when there’s something set out for me to learn it helps to do the thing physically or set something as my intention when I set out to do a task. Lots of self assessment. and therapy.

I try not to believe everything I see. Especially on the internet. I try to educate myself by diving deeper. Usually theres something from that that interests me more and its down the rabbit hole from there. I like to read books, articles, watch YouTube videos, talk to people. I feel that keeping the glass half empty is crucial to allowing yourself to learn more. If you want to find the truth, you have to be open to finding it.

In terms of educating myself, I am the type of person that attempts to look at all sides of a situation, no matter my prior experience or biases. I always try to confirm things through multiple sources, as another layer in an attempt to get to the truth of things. While at times I do not seek out new information, when I do gather information, I do it right.

I did everything right and helped him through it till the ambulance showed up, but the anxiety high was so bad that I was shaking for 6 hours. Decided then and there that educating would be a better route, took some time off but I’m back to the teaching route now.

setting intention helps me seek truth. it’s like once i put it out into the universe that truth is what I’m seeking, it makes it a lot easier to absorb/learn/understand truth.
i build character through seizing moments and challenging what my mental health and dysphoria has forced me to be for most of my life. that also means addressing the times where I was the problem. not creating excuses, but recognizing the trauma that may have caused a behavior and being proud of the time spent with mental health professionals by my side to help unravel it all and sincerely working on BEING BETTER. I like to be really honest with myself, and i think it’s how i grow to be more mature and clear-minded.

I’m not really sure how I educate myself to be honest. I mean in school it’s simple, I follow the structure the teacher gives me and complete all the assignments and if any of it was interesting or useful I will remember it. Lots of things I have learned have been neither. Outside of school I mainly just fact check things I am told. I will research things myself if I find them interesting and learn that way. Honestly this is something I probably need to work on, but I definitely still do learn new things everyday. I think I grow the most in character when I learn socially. For example even this book helped me grow because I learned more about someone else’s perspective, and I find more value in that than facts. When I hear what someone from a different background has to say I get something I can’t get from just looking at facts or reading a history book and that is so important. I guess in that way I do make an effort to listen to those voices and learn to be a better, more accepting, respectful and validating human from them.

What I find to be most beneficial to me understanding things is to look at different sources. If I hear about something happening in politics I don’t take their words as gospel. I research for myself and look at the different perspectives and maybe a live recording of either a debate or a speech if it is available. I educate myself by with prose. It’s easier to learn about myself openly and examine the unordinary pieces that pour out when there is melody in the background too. However, I value silence.. it is gold. Early morning hours…late late nights. Being curious and unashamed about knowledge I haven’t acquired yet. Asking questions, seeking opinions through active and engaging conversations, with intention to shed light on matters. I grow by paying attention to my attention, where it goes how it forms, and morphs into experiences outside of my comfort. Truth is in the center of being, I think the answers lie within, but they must be checked wisely.

I started with my essays like I mentioned last class. I went through all my notes and picked out the topics that either stood out to me or that I deem relevant for my essay. I listed them in my format and work on them every time I feel inspired to write, as writing should ( I feel like) should come from a place of passion and inspiration rather than forcing myself to write.

During the process so far, I have watched a ton of YT videos and Netflix docs that help fill me up with information that I might be able to apply to my essay. And that’s how I normally educate myself, too. I love to learn from my peers (like reading all the comments and forgetting to reply myself because I’m too occupied reading orders’ work. oops-) and from discussing. I LOVE discussing. My favorite ones are on controversial topics. Intellectual debates with open minded, critical, analytical people are the SO MUCH FUN. Because I feel like I don’t enrich myself when talking to people who share the same view points as I but rather with people who have completed opposites.

(I tried posting comments with my account but I don’t see them show up on the website, sorry if I have spammed you but its giving me STRESSS)

For the essay I plan to write, the truth that is revealed is the importance of perspective. Your perspective on events and what people do/go through means everything. It goes simply back to the saying “don’t judge a book by its cover”. Its’s a saying that everybody has heard somewhere. This is the truth that was revealed to me when reading. If we all took the time to understand the perspective of others, a lot of social and political issues could be understood and debated on rather than attacked by people who disagree strictly based on the political party they affiliate with. In other words, the truth that I want to reveal in my essay is “Perspective is Power”
