My fearlessness, only compounding, collecting, amplifying on top of itself.
Discipline, Consistency, Structure, Time Management. The obsession with me, currently, and into the indefinite…
Office getting quieter. My former SE walks by, heard it’s his birthday today and I wish him the happiest, he thanks me, tells me he’s 50… “What? Dude, I thought you were like mid-40s,” I say.
“Thanks man, I wish… my body tells me I’m 80 but the brain has me convinced I’m like 15…” He says.
He walks away and I’m looking over notes, organizing tomorrow on the calendar. Every hour, and that’s how every day has to be.
Started by own “tracker”. Item by item, and organized. Or, more appropriately, operationalized.
Office, quieter… Me, more focused.
Funny how little it sometimes takes.
Nothing dramatic happening. No great revelation. No new system, no complicated productivity routine, no sudden burst of vision or “inspiration”.
Just less noise.
And somewhere inside this quieter place, I hear myself a little better.
The work is still the work. Emails are still here. The things that need doing haven’t magically disappeared.
But I am not fighting through them. I am moving through them.
That distinction is crucial, acknowledging it now.
There is something about quiet that gives my character a little room to stretch out. To stop reacting. To stop jumping from one thing to another.
I stand here.
Look at what is in front of me.
Do that.
Then the next thing.
Maybe focus isn’t something I have to manufacture.
Maybe sometimes I simply remove enough noise to let it return.
Office, quieter.
Me, more focused.
And for this moment, that’s perfection.
