I’m choosing to ignore it.
Uncle Stevie over last night, meeting my best man and his wife. And the time flew by. Like the Nurse advised me long ago, “Just accept it.” That it will pass, quicker than you’re capable of measuring, appreciating, inventorying or even simply noticing. Just how it is.
Just after seven the next morning, and I sip a latte and don’t pay attention to the time. Yes I’m mindful of needing to be at the Winters coffee shop to meet Uncle and the fishing guide guy, but other than that, I’m just here.
Lean back in chair, not typing so intently. Smiling, and… Not thinking of the next word, the next paragraph. Just here. In the Now… the NOW of Now’s. And what do I learn?
Maybe nothing. Or maybe just a cosmic reminder that I am here and I have this day, and maybe only this day. No way to tell. But in this particular scene, I appreciate and see.
Some jazz in the kitchen, as often the setup and habit with this writer.
Out-of-office alert and message set, loaded and saved. And there you are Mike, free. Today… document everything, as I did last night with our guests, and everything. How I attach to this room, to life.
My attitude, calm. And attitude but not. I’m learning something as I write this.. the more simple the Composition, the more life you find.
