good evening everyone! Today was a pretty hectic day mentally wise and somewhat physically. But just like we talked about last class I was doing a lot of overthinking but I was able to talk about it with my girlfriend who was also having a mentally hectic day and we decided that we are in control of our own paths

So far my day has gone really slow, I’ve just been doing homework and other chores but is really keeping me distracted. I am very excited about the weekend and can’t wait to relax for a bit.

Hello everyone. If I were to narrate my day it would not be much. My days tend to read like a shampoo bottle wash, rinse, and REPEAT. At least during the weekdays, you know get up, get kids up, and breakfast. Tell kids to get to their zoom meetings and watch my nephew. Lunchtime is time to cook, Although I did make what the kids called fancy chicken nuggets. Those are just chicken nuggets tossed in orange sauce, yes they were better and it did seem fancier for some reason. Back to zoom and watching kids. End the day by making dinner and then relaxing except on Tuesday and Thursday when I have English with you all.

Very chill day today. Refreshing. I lifted this morning then read some manga for a while. it was an ok piece so I played Among Us with my friends. It is always nice to be able to talk to them since we are all spread out right now. I ate Panda Express and it was the highlight of my day. Love the honey walnut shrimp. I get it once a week and cannot wait. Also started watching a new anime called Inuyashiki. Had a lot of graphic scenes I was not expecting but they made me think about what constitutes humanity so it is so far a good watch. I also have been writing about the animes I watch. I like to write a little review and rate them out of 100. Helps me remember them when I look back and it comes in handy when I want to suggest one to my friends. Turning it into a Word Doc so I can just share it with them.

My day was very busy. One of my best friends recently got pregnant, and unfortunately seems to be a very complicated pregnancy so Ive been helping her out a lot these past couple days due to her being on bed rest. Woke up early, drove her to San Rafael for a doctors appointment, ran errands while they were attending her, then after that went to visit her family, drove her home, did homework, took a much needed nap, ate dinner, and now I’m here with you guys! (:

Take more notes in your journal. Avoid sentences, at least at first. I today was noting aspects of my home office….”Phone like a brick that makes money…. Cords like snacks, life and identity dotes….”

Something new that I have been trying is writing my prayers and also listing my blessings, sometimes we forget how blessed we are. We all have moments where we feel like the world is falling apart but being able to see and realize the things I have been blessed with brings me comfort.

Good evening everyone, my day started quite weird, i accidentally slept in till 11:55 ( 5 minutes before my first class) and im nit really sure how that happened since i went to bed at 10:30. Then after class me and my friend went to good will to pick out our costume for this decades themed surprise birthday party for our other friend tomorrow (When i say party i mean the 8 close knit people I have been seeing since COVID started). had some lunch and now i’m here. Pretty good day, how was everyone elses? sorry for the late post, i was having webpage errors earlier trying to post.

Today I tried my hand at a little cajun food, something simple like red beans and rice. My wife and I both really enjoyed it, my kids not so much. Starting with the oldest one he does try really hard to appreciate new foods, he says all the right things yet his face shows a different story, you know that face your kid makes when they did something wrong and hope you didn’t notice. Then my youngest takes a bite and said “i don’t like it”, fair enough. Finally my middle child comes to the table and looks at the food and just blurts, “if I say I at at my friends do I have to eat it”. I of course just drop into a laugh and excuse them all. More for Me…..

What I’ve noticed about Irby, is that she’s similar to Sedaris in the sense of being an “essayist” she writes about moments of herself but comedy.

I used the word direct because I think her honesty comes in a different way than Sedaris. More brash. More to the point. But I need to read her essays completely before I solidify my opinion on her writing.

When I looked Samantha Irby up the first thing I came across was her blog ‘bitchesgottaeat’ and on the home page it literally says “some dude named “dave” gave we are never meeting in real life two stars on goodreads and, okay, he had some valid points” and thats pretty funny. Ive browsed around her blog a bit and its pretty funny, pretty ironic, pretty real. I like it

I think she is like Sedaris in the sense that she comments on things in the way that she isnt concerned about how other people think or feel about the topics.

What makes you say that?

Like Sedaris, she makes fun of the things one doesn’t want to talk out loud about. Like, she really posted on her blog, “Things I’ve accidentally peed on a little bit” and went on to talking how she no longer has full control of her bladder and the ways it has made her pee. It’s random, but interesting! She’s funny, and has that “I don’t care, I’m going to write about it, its funny” mentality like Sedaris.
