I agree completely. This is what I attempt daily, however it can be very exhausting. Whether I am attempting to run a workout to my best ability, study for a test, or practice my instrument, I find that sometimes I just need to step away detach for a while. When I can’t do that I lose interest and need to spend loads of time and energy re-discovering the reason I pursued that ambition in the first place. That is along the lines of what I wrote in my essay for Dharma Bums and it is very prevalent in my life. How do you cope with or handle yourself when you feel that there is too much going on or you feel that what you choose to do has become to draining?
