ENGLISH 5 – 5/5/21, WEDNESDAY

5-5:10:  What have you learned about yourself, recently?

5:10-5:35:  Knowing what you want to say IS the essay……. So, what do you want to say?  Where do you start?  What’s the word?  Then what?

IDEA:  Start by talking to the reader of your paper….  Like, “Love is something that is inevitable.  Think of the people or places you love, what does it do to your mood and mind?”

BE PERSONAL WITH THE READER OF YOUR PAPER.  NOT ACADEMIC OR SCRIPTED (which in many cases is the same thing).

5:35-6:  Connectivity of ideas…..  Start with one word or idea, then venture out.  Always come back.

Example:  Love (my topic) connects to thought, connects to life, connects to people, then writing… then story….  A love of all of it.

***I will always come back to my word, my singular idea and stance, position.  Be playful with how you connect ideas, just prove that they do connect.  Use examples from he books!

6-6:20:  Free discussion……. What are you writing for yourself?  Anyone filling up their journals?

What is your dream job?  Why does it need to be a dream??

6:20-6:30:  Close……

OTP:  Mind the time, but don’t let it maneuver your mind away from itself.

OTP:  Have more fondness of what you’re writing.

OTP:  Procrastination will only cause me to laugh, not sympathize and certainly not empathize.

OTP:  There is Composition and truth in what you’ve already lived….  Recall it, and write it.  Use it.  You haven’t lived this long for nothing.

OTP:  Rest is beneficial, excess rest is damning.

ASSIGNMENT:  Work on essays…. Email me a quick update before next meeting.

OTP: Don’t hope for the semester to be over. That’s wishing away your life. Life is cruelly curt and one day you’ll be closer to a day of no more days. Love and be thankful for your Now.

Thinking about my singular idea and what I will end up landing on. I think between the books and my life I have a lot of material to work with. Starting from scratch, What’s next, the unexpected makes the best stories, write your story…the universe has your back

I’m in a place in my thinking life where I can only see stories, in everything. In the books I read, the people I meet, where I am and what I’m doing – so much magic in the meta…

I’ve been writing about the ideas that come to me throughout my day. Sometimes I expand on them or I might retrace my steps to see how I came to it. I have filled one journal and I’m half way through another.

Writing for myself…still writing poems and haiku’s and short stories…the last one was about death interestingly..but not mine. A morning dove and a blond moth I had a hand in killing accidentally.

I’ve been doing more or less therapy journaling I’ve been told to do besides all the stuff directly for class. If I could be anything I would say my dream is to be a fashion designer or stylist, which I never took too seriously because I’ve been discouraged from doing it since it isn’t a very lucrative or easy career path, and it would be simpler to not take that risk. Either way clothes is still something I am very passionate about and I’m going to be sad if I have a job where I’m forced to wear extremely boring outfits.

My dream job is somewhere I can be in a leadership position but not a boss. I’d like to be a resource or advocate. Someone who can unite people through education and community. Currently, I’m studying to be an industrial organizational psychologist, which should lead me down the write path!

I am editing my resume and writing my cover letter again for me, for a new opportunity. I am resigning my job this Friday without having alternative another job in place. I know this is what is best. I want to apply at well-known family wine company and I am excited, but stressed because this is alll occurring before the semester ends. Anyway, I don’t really know what my dream job is.. it has switched around many times throughout the years…but working for NASA would be stellar.

I have found myself rather busy recently so I have not written in my journal much outside of class time sadly, I need to push myself to write in my journal more even if I I have other things to do. I always ponder on what my dream job would be.. My mind always goes to things like a heavy equipment operator (because the machine does the work for you) or something that has to do with technology. I believe any dream is possible to a certain extent but many choose to think it is not possible for them, I find myself thinking this way from time to time.
