i hope everyone is doing well and looking on the bright side of things. i just finished my second work out of the day (part of the program im doing) i took it a little easy with this jog by mostly walking but none the less i still went out there and completed my 45 minutes

Life has been crazy lately….. Loving my re-read of Foreman’s book. This new paper, the final that is… my word is WRITING. Writing on writing… why write, what you do with it, what you hope will transpire as a result.

I felt a little all over the place with my last paper… I’m sure it showed. I’m already feeling better about this book so I know my writing on it will be a lot easier/better for me. I want to finish on a high note, I’m finally starting to feel a lot better about my routine/attitude. Orange theory is doing outdoor classes so I’ve been going about 5 times each week for last couple weeks so I’m back in my groove. hopefully, everything can stay going this way!

That is something i would be interested in discussing. I was not feeling very confident/enthusiastic about it. I know it was not my best work what so ever. I don’t know exactly what angle to work the Irby book for me into a paper.

I thought this book was going to be like the others like more humorous.. it is still interesting to read but not as funny as the other ones.

I feel like hes more of like a history funny if that makes sense, he uses his knowledge to be funny

I think that Tom have a very strong mind. He still goes on his practice runs in the snow!!! I would never do that if it is snowing. He also seems to have a nice personality, according to his conversations in the book with her daughter and wife.

Thinking about the essay, I still haven’t decided what they all have in common, I want to continue on reading Foremans book to see if it comes to me
For the essay I am writing how they are all about talking about their stories even though its the ugly truth.
My focus on the essay will be all about prioritizing and family values. The strength your loved ones have on you and the amount of love you have for them in order for them to be your full motivation. Family is everything and they are what keeps me going and striving for more. Especially as a parent, We just want whats best for our kids and we will go to great lengths for them to have a better life then we did. I feel like thats every parent’s goal in life, to make sure we raise good, well behaved human beings that are successful and that want to have the motivation to succeed.
Sounds good. But… examples?
One idea for me, for this final essay… writing. Writing about writing. What you learn about yourself from writing about yourself. Magic of the meta… I’m telling you, ALL… there is something there.
Like how you write about yourself is how you see yourself?

with this paper i do feel like its going to be a bit easier to gather all of my thoughts togeher. so far Tom Foreman is the author i can relate to the most at least in this part of my life. i’m done with making excuses and taking every next step. and i think tying all of these stores together will be fun. like i said last class a word that describes the relationship between all of these books is experience. because they are sharing there life experiences and we can learn a lot from them and they can inspire us to go out and create our own experiences
What is the connecting idea with the other authors?
i would say the connecting idea is that they all had struggles and found ways to overcome them or look on the brighter side

hello everyone! sorry for being late, had a really crazy day. But I”m here and took a look at tonights conversations and ideas. Good stuff.
What do you see as “good stuff?” Give us examples, and shout-out’s to the people that made you think.
I think that both Patricia and Consuelo had some good ideas as far as the direction they wanted to go with their essays. With the “Ugly truth” all 3 authors have mentioned that Patricia brought up as well as connecting everything we learned towards “Prioritization and family values” that Consuelo talked about, they show how there are different angles we can go about with this essay.

For the essay, I want to focus on how I’ve incorporated everything I’ve learned from the books into my everyday life. These books really made me think as to how I think of myself and what exactly I let effect the opinion I have about my self.

What’s the dominant idea… “Learning”?
I’d say it is whatever got me thinking or feeling the most that that I would consider as something I can learn from. Whether it was joy, sadness, motivation, or even second hand embarrassment. Fact of the matter is that it got me thinking and connecting it all to my own personal experiences.

His has the family he has right now because he meet his wife when he attend Connecticut college “Running led me to attend Connecticut College… which led me to meeting my wife.”
I feel like as a mother raising two boys, it is my responsibility to not only show them good examples of being a good human being but also teach them about how to respect, how to use motivation as a tool to keep them going to have a successful life. Keep them in line with how life works and how in life we need to work hard everyday for us to be able to get what we want and where we want to be. Help them stay focused and always remind them that staying positive and smiling and laughing are always a key to living a successful life. After all we should be happy after attaining what we desire.

Just got off work and at first when I saw the cover of the book I was not too excited. I know I should not judge a book by its cover because we never really know what the book has to offer. Like Professor Mikey has mentioned, I also thought that this book was going to be more about running but as you read you realize it’s more than that. It’s about self-motivation and your willingness to succeed through life’s obstacles.
i agree i wasnt as excited about it as i was for the other ones but it turns out its my favorite one so far
